Doggie Academy owner and trainer Sarah Westcott draws from her extensive toolbox to craft a unique lesson plan for each client based on their needs and goals. Whether you need assistance with pre-pet planning, puppy manners, basic obedience, advanced obedience, agility training or behavioral issues, Doggie Academy will help. She believes that training should be fun for both dog and human so that the journey is just as rewarding as the results.

Sarah is a godsend. When I first adopted Bella, she had been living in a shelter for six months and was so confused as to what the world even was outside of the cage she was living in. I was a little nervous about trying to do dog training via ZOOM, but was surprised at how well it worked. I had a full room-size view of Lizzie and her dog Phin and she could see me and Maya very well. It was also very helpful to see her working with her own dog.

Amanda was phenomenal! She seemed very experienced with the subject of the class (agility) and able to differentiate for each of the dogs in the class, no matter their level of ability. My dog struggles with confidence quite a bit, and Amanda had really helpful suggestions to help her acclimate to some of the more challenging obstacles. I hope to take more classes with Amanda in the future.

Sarah and Kate showed genuine enthusiasm throughout the entire course. It is clear that they are passionate about what they do. There is obviously a lot of material on obedience training on the internet, but Sarah and Kate really break down the underlying philosophy and spend as much time, if not more, training and correcting the human — you can’t get that from watching a few YouTube videos.

We first heard about Doggie Academy from the Internet. Once we had a session with Kate, though, we were hooked. She has such a positive, upbeat attitude, and offers helpful tips for improving our life with Wicket (within the practical realm of what we and Wicket are able to achieve). Unlike other trainers we had worked with previously, Kate is not judgmental, listens carefully, and does not try to rush things. She gives thorough advice, feedback, and (of course) Wicket loves her.
